Thing 9

Collaborate with me......Zoho vs Google
I edited with both Zoho and Google and found that Google was easier for me. Zoho seemed to have more options or it just looked that way to me. I could get a full screen to work with in Google, but had problems with the screen in Zoho. The Founding Fathers??? Hmmm!

Thing 7 Twitter Meebo

Oh my! I was able to do both (with help from Court). I created a chat room mcpl23. I don't know if I am a fan of this or not. I think chat reference could work at the library as well as anything if patron's know how. I am not sure there is a use for it here at the branch. A chat room internally would be a great idea! I can see us asking a quick question and avoid calling on the phone. Externally, I am not sure. MeeboMe??? Well, I guess we could give it a try and see. I think some patron's would really like it. Twitter would be useful for quick questions and answers. I am very overwhelmed with 2.0 and thinking that I am way to old for this!!!

Thing 6

I really like all of the new ways that are available to communicate with others. One of our clerks Audra has been wanting us to use IM for some time now. We did set up our accounts on MSN, but to personalize them required other downloads that were not available to us. I think it would work really well for us here at ELL since we answer the phones at the circulation desk and transfer reference calls over. If the reference librarian is busy we could use IM instead of interrupting them. I remember going to a web conference session at our library with Vanessa (sorry, I cannot even remember what the program was at this time). I think it is a great way to communicate and train a large group at one time. I am going to sign up for a webinar session and will update after!
